That's what I thought too. I'm using version 1.2 of DynDNS Updater, which, according to http://www.dyndns.com/, is the current version.

DynDNS Updater is based on DNSUpdate code but is dedicated to DynDNS only.
DNSUpdate has updated its code, it might be interesting to ask DynDNS Updater's authors to use the code change in their application.
