1) Extensions, extensions, extensions.2) More reliable rendering. Safaris support for JavaScript is a bit shoddy.
3) Cross-platform
The old Mozilla/Netscape browser was the first to incorporate tabs as far as I know, Safari was late to the game.

Safari gives me really cluttered web pages compared with Firefox. Firefox with Adblock and Flashblock installed really cleans up the web. Safari creates a massive memory leak for me everytime I install it, regardless of version.I'm running OS 10.4.6 on a G4 Powerbook (about to be upgraded -- maybe Safari will finally work for me).
