Pentax DS or DS2 - Thetaguy

In spite of Apple saying that it supports the Pentax Raw format i have found that it does not. I have taken my Pentax Raw files to two Apple stores besides trying them on my own machine and they are not recognized by the O/S or by Aperture. I was almost ready to buy Aperture till I found this to be the case.

Also even if I convert the Pentax files to DNG format with Adobe's DNG convertor they still will not open. I called Apple's support and spoke to a tech in the Aperture department (6 Sept 06) who flat out told me that O/S X does not support the PEF files (pentax RAW) and even if converted to DNG they will not work.

Pentax DS or DS2 - Thetaguy

I just discovered a blog that describes how to change a file in your system folder so that the O/S recognizes the Pentax DS. Now all I need is to upgrade my video card and I can get Aperture.
