you din't try to update your firmware to a new one, this is to restore it after you installed the new firmware.

The Apple Knowledge Base article says that it can only be used after an interrupted or failed Firmware update attempt. It doesn't sound like you can use it after a successful Firmware update.

x86 Firmware Restoration CD 1.1 - biga919

the cd cannot function well at my macbook(firmware:1.4f10),
i power on my macbook and hold down the power button until the LED blinks rapidly followed immediately
by a successive series of blinks, after that i heard a startup beep sound is played and the macbook
straight to Tiger OSX without notice any of (3 quick blinks, 3 slow blinks, 3 quick blinks) as the readme.rtf mentioned.
i apply restoration CD since my current firmware:1.4f10 on my macbook leds the system fan speed in full operation
which creats annoying noise during operation.

am i have any steps missing in the use of firmware restoration CD 1.1 ??

Nevertheless, this sounds like one of those CD tool/utility discs to have around in case one picks up an old Mac intel sometime in the future and by chance may need this.
