So, sync services were added... - miketall
I have been using this script for about 2 years now, and it is the best thing out there in regards to Entourage syncing. I realize the script is a little complex and takes a little bit to get it set up the first time. However, after that, I have found it to be the most flexible tool available. I don't have to set up any special categories and sync to only those special groups or categories. Merging is handled wonderfully. In fact, on the 1st syncing it will directly request from you whether you would like to merge data, give priority to Entourage, or give priority to the Apple app.The first sync is definitely slow, but after that it seems to run just about as quick as iSync ran when synchronizing with my Palm device. Now, I just have it scheduled to auto-run at night, and I never have to worry about a thing.
My biggest suggestion to a new user is to read the ReadMe file that comes with the program. After going through that file, then try setting up your first sync. This won't be something you can get started in just 5 minutes. Spend a good couple hours reading the manual to understand how flexible is this script. You really can do just about anything you want with it regarding syncs between Entourage and the Apple apps.
I would love to see it integrated with iSync (like e2Sync) or have a nice Mac OS X finish to it, but it doesn't. Instead it works. If you are willing to give up the flashiness, and you just really need to have your data synced, this is it.
As with any syncing tool I have used, you might find a few duplicates or other slight error messages after the 1st sync. Don't fret. Just clean up or re-create those contacts and events, and go on from there.

Why don't you stop whining and write one yourself, if you are so clever.Reply to This
