Bounces in dock but does not launch - bensutherland_dotmac

I am having the same problem using 4.4.1 and OS X 10.4.5. I am, however, able to run BitTorrent under root, which I don't particularly like doing, but it works so far. just go into the console and type "sudo <location of bittorrent.app>/Contents/MacOS/BitTorrent".
I hope they fix this soon.
