still can't repair permissions - ffooky
I took the route of dropping the iTunes application on Trim The Fat to remove the Intel binary that stuffs things up.
iTunes 6.0.2 always functioned effectively after the procedure and 6.0.3 is fine so far.

Dragging iTunes out of the application will work, but one other fix is to go into the "Library" folder on your hard drive. Go into the "Receipts" folder and delete any iTunes package except for the iTunesX.pkg (And iTunesPhone.pkg if you have it installed). As someone who has to work on many Macs running OSX 10.3.9, I found this to be the simplest and quickest way for me.Thursday, February 16 2006 @ 11:01 AM PST

I had this problem. Remove the chess application from the Application's folder, then run Repair Permissions.Reney

The workaround seems to be to drag iTunes to your desktop (or maybe just out of the Applications folder) and then do the permissions repair. Afterward, you can just drag iTunes back and continue as normal.Reply to This
