One problem though - Philip Dow

This is intential behavior. If you delete an entry from any location in your journal, the entry is deleted from the entire journal. A warning dialog says so much.

To remove an entry from a collection without deleting it from the journal, hold down shift when you press delete or drag it outside the browse table when viewing that collection. The help files explain exactly how to do this.

Changes for Upcoming 1.1.5 - Philip Dow

Having thought about this a bit further, despite the warning dialog, I have decided to make Journler's behavior more like that of Mail.

For the upcoming 1.1.5, I have incorporated two changes: on the one hand, deleting an entry from the Journal library or a date will put the entry in the trash where it can later be recovered. So the addition of a trashcan to prevent data loss.

On the other hand, the default behavior for deleting an entry from a regular collection will be to remove it from that collection alone, neither removing it from the journal or placing it in the trash.

One problem though - m2tech

The same thing can trip people up in iPhoto or iTunes. I agree with the poster's concern and suggest that all of these products provide an alert before deleting the original of a file that is linked in any album.
