I get the same error when trying to "clean" a mounted network volume (from a PC). I've just redownloaded the dmg from the developer's website and still the same result.As a small note to the developer, maybe you should change the text on your site to read FinderCleaner 1.9 rather than 1.8. Also perhaps include the build number in the filename of the dmg (i.e. findercleaner1.9.dmg rather than just findercleaner.dmg every time).
