Dear freevito,I just saw your comment - thank you for that. It shows me that not everyone is happy with our decision for limiting the demo-version. Until now close to 99% of our users are happy to check out Merlin with its current limitation. OK, from time to time I receive a mail with a request for a time-limited license - No problem! You will learn, Merlin is not a great application - we even have a great support. The only thing is, you have to try ;-)
So please send me a mail to frank@projectwizards.net and I will be happy to send you a time-limited version of Merlin.
You mentioned also there is not indication of resource leveling on our website. That's true, because there is no resource leveling included in Merlin until now - and for a very good reason. I would be happy to discuss this per mail with you.

I see that the makers of Merlin have taken care of your concerns, but I need to point out that time limited Demos are a pain for some of us as we might well not be able to budget to get the item straight away.I discovered Merlin via Nova-Mind, the mind mapping app which I bought last October, but because of one thing and another I did not get to use for the first time now in April when the time became available to open the manual and do the learning required. It, incidentally is fabulous and useful once I learned how to manipulate color and organisation to suit my work.
It was then that I read their page on Merlin. Now I don't know if a project management tool is suitable for me as a fine artist who is merely juggling painting and sculpture projects and deadlines for exhibitions. Costs etc are really not relevant and there is only me working on my own. Maybe I will find that Nova-Mind all on its own is all I really need, but I will only discover that with a few projects and time, and if I feel Merlin is useful to me, it will no doubt go on my budget for purchase with the first big project.
I have about 20,000 dollars worth of software on hand. With those sort of numbers I am a proven buyer, but I do not buy anything without a lot of consideration as to needs.
ie: with the feature limited demo I downloaded and will try = a potential buyer. Had this expensive item had been time limited I may have either not downloaded or if I had, probably not gotten to use it at all in the time period = no sale realistically possible.

Apart from my support for your line of reasoning - have you tried to contact the developers and get a time limited full license? Maybe they can offer you something that helps you...Reply to This
