Hi there.The three checkboxes are described in the manual on my page:

but here is a short description:
1. Periodic check : MailWidget will perform a new Mail check every 5 minutes in background (Dashboard not shown)
2. A Fe-Mail voice will announce new eMail to you acousically. this is especially interesting in combination with the first checkbox.
3. When you start Dashboard the first time after reboot MailWidget will check for updates.

This is so simple and awsome. It woks as advetised. As for earlier comments about checking one email account at a time, indeed it would be nice to check multiple accounts at once.
