You overlooked the most important thing! The others apps you mentioned aren't UNIVERSA. I paid for EZ Note X and DEVONnote - and agree they're fine apps - but why haven't they upgraded to an Intel version? They're fairly simple so it shouldn't be too difficult. Sure, they WILL run, but once I experienced the incredible performance improvement with Universal apps - I won't install anything less. So thanks MacItEasy for writing a Universal app!
