Strange that just the account name doesn't work. Perhaps it only works that way for HoTMaiL (that's what I have) and not for msn. But, hey! you've got it working – well done. Thx 4 saying thanks!

this trick of selecting 'none' for server worked for me, too.

no idea why the old outgoing mail settings stopped working for me.
