Latest version took my hard drive down - macmaths
I think I recall reading somewhere that you're not supposed to do an optimization while booted from the CD (not saying that you did), only while booted from the eDrive or while booted from another drive or partition.Anyway, if you have another drive or large enough partition, rather than optimize with a defragging utility like TTP, buy a $20.00 license to SuperDuper!, clone your volume to another drive, boot from the clone and clone it back. This will defrag your drive, and you'll have a bootable backup as well.
I highly recommend SuperDuper!

Same here. - alphasubzero949
I had TTP kill my hard drive twice during the volume structure "optimization."DiskWarrior couldn't do anything for me.
Fortunately, I had backups.
