Dear Selfinflicted Drama... - jaysta

"Micro$oft reinventing the wheel with WMA?" I've not had such a laugh in a long time.

Go and play with your WMAs & Winamp with it's butt ugly skins.

Dear idiotic brother... - DuCK9

So why not use WinAmp? Knock yourself out. Enjoy, go give it a stellar review in the appropriate forum.

FLAC is not a "wide known format". That is why the support for it is not there. I have heard of it, but I am betting most users of iTunes, or even WInAmp never have. You have an "expensive" piece of shareware for it? Well then, by definition, it is not shareware. Why the hell would I want to load up my computer with dozens of different codecs for every piece of poorly written software out there? I've worked with codecs on Windows, and it is silly to do things that way.

Additionally, if you want to get into encoding debates, you really should go to a digital audiophile message board and do it there. Most people in this forum do fine with the lossy encoding of mp3. At 128, I notice some loss, but if I pump it up just a bit to the 192, I notice no difference in quality from cd, and I have a decent ear, better than most. Additionally, mp3 will go on almost all portable players so, even if it is "outdated" nearly everyone can use it. Which leads me to my final point: I really don't think you understand the idea behind iTunes, give people a really easy to use piece of software that most people can use. It works pretty damn well at that. Of course, if you are just trolling, I can understand that too, I would just think you could find a better place to troll than here.
