Simply won't work!!! - zunipus
I had a 'Simply won't work!!!' experience as well on a PB Wall Street G4 500MHz, 512 MB RAM, with MOSX 10.2.8.The following methods failed to provide a working copy of the app: (1) StuffIt Expander v8.0.2. (2) StuffIt Expander v6.5.1. (3) Opening the archive inside StuffIt Deluxe v6.5.1, then dragging out the entire folder to the desktop. The Console spewed the following:
"Jul 16 12:28:51 [user]s-Computer WindowServer[2647]: ERROR! execle(/Users/[user]/Desktop/mpc2aiff 1.2/mpc2aiff.app/Contents/MacOS/mpc2aiff) returned, err=22"
The method that worked, oddly, was to open the archive inside StuffIt Deluxe v6.5.1 then ONLY drag out the app. The application at last worked.
This sounds like computer voodoo to me. I've never run into a crappy archive like this before. Needless to say I will NOT be putting the original archive into my source file backup. I'm making my own.
