Try moving the DivX 5.component out of your Library/QuickTime folder when playing.

ya, the problem with the cursor showing up on your screen is almost always associated with having the divx quicktime component installed.

Make sure you remove it when playing. Also, if you purchase and install Roxio Toast 7 it installs a version of divx that does NOT cause the cursor to appear. But that's just my experience.
