often .wmv files will not play on VLC while they do on mPlayer. and as I already said, several .avi files will not play *correctly* on VLC as they do on mPlayer. as I already said, it is often the audio tracks that do not play.

just because you have not encountered any problems with VLC is no reason to suggest it supports "all" files out there--have you really tried every file imaginable? I know I sure haven't and VLC is quite buggy with the ones I have. I hope this new version fixes it.

completely false - The iMac Man

VLC nor MPlayer play WMV9, while Windows Media Player for OSX does... so, no, VLC doesn't play every codec available for OSX.
