Yes, the look and feel needs a lot of work and it is something that the volunteers and developers are working on - the primary aim of this release was to get a stable and functional version out the door. Now that has happened, the developers can focus more on refining the look and feel. Be aware, though, that there are only a very few people willing and/or able to do this work and that it is all done voluntarily! Feel free to drop by the trinity.neoffice.org site to lend a hand.
