Same error here. I was backing up to a firewire drive file.

Also scripts that are created do not show up for running.

It seems that Dantz isn't interested in fixing the problems.

Basically this once Gold Standard is not a POS, so sad.

There are a number of known issues with this build of Retrospect. It turns out that there are problems with Spotlight. Hopefully EMC/Dantz will be addressing these. I find a sort of appalling that they didn't in all the time Tiger was being tested, but well there it is.

Anyway, try this.

Exclude /Library/Preferences/Retrospect from Spotlight in the privacy tab

Also tell Retrospect to not backup any files/folders named .Spotlight-V100
