Disappointing. Apple Needs To Do Better. - emcnair

I can respect your gripes about Pages, even though I don't completely agree with you. But to call it "overpriced" is a bit of a stretch. I think that $79.00 for both Keynote and Pages is a real bargain. Individually that comes to $39.50 apiece. I have paid more for shareware apps that haven't had near the features of Pages. In fact, I personally would have paid $79.00 for Keynote alone and would have considered that a bargain. Just think of Pages as "beta freeware" that was included in your purchase of Keynote. You'll sleep better at night if you do.

It's a Cocoa application: Select the text you wish to count, pull down the application menu ("Pages"), go to Services:Statistics.

BTW, what are "panes?"
