A program that phones home - so what - chrislong

If you don't trust it then just don't use it. However, giving it a bad review on subjects like features? what is the point of that? Contact the developer with your issues if you dont like how things are handled but posting here is just plain idiotic. This app does what it says and does it very well, so what if the developer wants to protect his app from pirating.

So, Windows phones home and everybody complains, but it's ok for shareware to phone home? Seems to me that phoning home IS part of the feature set and it's something the product should be judged on.

Ecto as a program has access to logins and passwords.. and it phones home? Anybody see a security problem with this? Do I have the source code? Hmm what does the program really do?

Hey, if they don't want to sell the application then they should keep making it phone home. I for one have no use for an insecure app and I'm glad somebody posted this information for everybody to see.. especially since the seller doesn't mention it on their web site.
