Tiger is far more than dashboard. Where did you get that silly idea from?

Tiger != Dashboard - Stormchild

There's quite a lot more to Tiger than Dashboard. Have a look at this excellent review at ArsTechnica for details. Tiger is a pretty big step forward for Mac OS X...it's just a matter of ironing out the issues that are bound to happen to some people during any major OS upgrade.

Yep - jtfolden

This sounds like the wishful thinking of someone who can't afford to update. For my $$$, 10.4 has been the most worthy upgrade yet and it has a lot more going for it than Dashboard. Works great here...

Spotlight and Automator make Tiger worthwile for me. Bugs? The only ones I have are in my front yard.

Yep - PSmith

Anybody who thinks Dashboard is the main reason to get (or not get) Tiger has obviously never actually used Tiger. ;)

Lemmings - dbmite

It's amazing how many lemmings will talk themselves into thinking that Tiger is a purchase well worth it. Tiger on a G4 is just plain terrible, performance wise and compatibility wise. Tiger is obviously made to take advantage of the G5's abilities.

I also do not want to spend the next two years of my life updating programs and fixing endless crashes only to have another OS X version for $129 available by the time I get everything working smoothly again.

I'll stick with Panther thank you very much. Tiger is just plain thin!
