Just in case you haven't already figured it out, PodWorks is compatible with 10.4 (Tiger). Also, the comments, images, and other aspects of the ID3 tags are encoded into the actual sound files (AAC, MP3...). If they were there in iTunes, they will be preserved when moved to your iPod.
