can't use 2 TiVo units? - iDriveX
there could be any number of problems with that and you'll have to troubleshoot it. Here are some things to think about.1. I have had problems in the past when using more than one router and using Apple's Wireless Distribution System. The TiVo was going through one router and TiVo desktop was going through the other. Technically they are on the same subnet and should see each other, but more times than not they couldn't.
2. TiVo Software 7.1.x on your TiVo is very very buggy with the Music and Photos. Try enabling HME so that it says "Music, Photos, and more" for some reason I have had more successful music and photos connect by having that enabled.
3. Try turning off your working TiVo and restarting your non-working TiVo...Does that help? If so, then there is some sort of conflict between the two, if not, it points to the non-working one as being incompatible somehow with your setup and you can troubleshoot that directly.
4. Enter the server address manually on the TiVo, sometimes that helps the TiVo "find" the server.

Absolutely, you can only use "TiVo Broadcaster" on one machine at a time in your subnet. What it is doing is it is broadcasting (rudimentarily) through Bonjour. BUT It's naming itself in Bonjour and broadcasting that name. If you try and run it on a second machine, you should get a Bonjour error message stating the name is already in use or being broadcasted. Hope that helps!Reply to This
