Friend cannot get his images into iPhoto? - bmehrtens
The first time I hooked my Canon S2 IS up to my G5 running 10.3.8 with iPhoto 4.0.3, iPhoto downloaded about half the pictures and then did the same thing you're describing. It's not a memory card issue, because the card works fine in the camera and my Palm device as well. And it's not a conflict with the Canon software, because I hadn't even installed it yet! Since iPhoto wouldn't handle the pictures, I installed the Canon software (5.2.0.6), and the pictures were downloaded to my desktop machine just fine. I am curious to try this again with iPhoto 5, but I wanted to add an additional comment to this thread that it is very likely a problem other than a bad SD card or conflict between ImageBrowser and iPhoto.Monday, August 22 2005 @ 09:26 AM PDT

Sounds like a faulty memory card. Are you able to play back all the images on the camera LCD? Since you already backed up to CD, re-format the memory card, take a few pictures, and see if you still get this problem. If you do, and it the images play back fine in the camera, then it sounds like a software conflict with iPhoto and imagebrowser. Uninstall the Canon app and just use iPhoto.Reply to This
