Additional insight into Customer Support: I stupidly couldn't find the uninstall program and sent a help request to the author. They responded w/in 10 minutes.

I found out why you are getting such bad peformance because you're inside of an About dialog box, which uses high frame rate animation. If you switch away from it into other view, the processor usage will drop to 12%.
