I got this same error the other day - and after the error the disc name changes to "<unknown>" in Toast,
but I went ahead with creating a disc image. I dragged the completed image file back in Toast, mounted it & it worked...

Apparently this is a bug or a Tiger incompatibility with this version of Toast. If you download the 6.1.1 update, the problem will go away.
