Agree on hassle with opening additional windows - Jake Bryan
The fact that all additional windows cascade down, as well as horizontally, is a major pain. I can see that users with some monitors might want this, but anyone with an iMac G5 or other wider display will have problems with this. A user preference option to cascade only horizontally would be a great fix.Saturday, February 26 2005 @ 09:04 AM PST

I'm back to version 1.0 - the fixes in 1.0.1 just aren't worth the headaches of the window painting bugs. These aren't only when restoring a hidden window. If you want to add even more bugs, run the Altivec optimized version. That one doesn't track page history and you can't go BACK using keyboard shortcuts or toolbar back button. Not to mention they hacked up all the Firefox default icons.
I'm sure a patch can be made to affect new window position. So I see the complaints, but I don't see any proposed solutions. Where should new windows be created? Right over top of the previous one? A different size than the previous one?

I agree with you completely on the point about the window opening below the dock and gave up Firefox and Mozilla because of it (Opera does the same and I suspect it is a PC compatible feature). I posted the same comment as you and received a comment that windows should not slide under the dock but should be positioned below it. I wonder where this respondent got this information and why they didn't bother to inform the Mac engineers that made Safari. Anyway Camino doesn't behave like this and is far and away the best browser.Reply to This
