Rebuttal: Badly needs fixing - Gib Henry

    The major irritating problems are that it does not save log-in information. Although the interface provides an option for saving log-in information, it doesn't work. Also, there is a built-in phonebook for saving numbers, but again, it doesn't save anything.
It does indeed save phone numbers and log-in information. I've been using it on 5 machines since its release, and it works fine on all machines. However, it is very un-Mac-like and counter-intuitive.
    It's also very slow to start up and after quitting the app, you nearly have time to get a cup of coffee before it finally goes away (on my 1.25 GHz G4 eMac). Audio quality is ok, but nothing close to what you will get from iChat.
I use it with a VoIP-to-PSTN provider, and yes, it takes time for it to log into the server, and to tear down that connection before quitting.
As to audio quality, we're talking TELEPHONY here, not hi-fi stereo, and I can only say that my transatlantic calls to European telephone numbers are loud and clear via Xten, generally better than a regular telephone.
    If the problems with saving log-in information and phonebook entries were fixed, I'd be a lot happier with it.
Try reading the manual available from the publisher. I think once you get over the awkward, counter-intutive interface, you'll agree it works great. (And no, I don't have any connection at all with Xten!)
