So piracy is OK in your book? - Alastair_Houghton_882

Sorry Duckhue, but we don't see why people should be able to steal our software with impunity. It takes a lot of time and effort to create a product like iDefrag, and we work hard to support our paying customers. We don't see why freeloaders should benefit from our hard work, and we don't think it is unreasonable for our product's copy protection mechanisms to attempt to inform us if people are trying to use pirated keys with the product.

I agree - Marjansar

If this SW works and I can verify that I would buy iy now! I can't do that!
I don't mind paying for a good piece of SW. Again I have to be able to try it! Why in the world would I buy without it working for me.

Little Snitch - Eupfhoria

If you are paranoid about your software "phoning home" get a little application called little snitch. It will tell you when an app tries to connect to a server and allow you to block it if you wish. Developer: I am not telling him this as a means to aid piracy, but a means to allay fears that may be unfounded.

Hopefully the demo will be out soon. I would like to give this a go! Also how long will the upgrades continue to be free?

I agree - aiwetir

oh and one more thing, the gui looked really cool and i was really hoping for another good defrag app. don't really like any of the other choices.

IF this comes out in demo and stops with the SPYWARE issue, i would MAYBE consider buying it as it seems pretty cool.

in the mean time, i just can't be a party to this kind of thing in the mac community, really disappointing :-(
