DO NOT GET INFRARED - it wont work with OSX. You probably just need to download the Mac driver for your cable. You need the 'Prolific USB Cable driver' which can be downloaded at http://www.taniwha.org.uk/.
It's a yellow link immediately above the 'other useful files' section on the site.
