As described in an earlier post, the delta update seemed to have introduced some audio and video annoyances. AFAIK, sometimes a subsequent "combo" install can fix problems, so that's what I'll try (reverting to 10.3.6 versions of ATI kexts and the OpenGL framework (via Pacifist) didn't help video matters, BTW).

ahhh, I must have missed that post. That's cool. Pacifist is not really a good program to use with OS software. mixing different versions of files is not a good idea as it can cause more problems then solve them. In this case, Apple made more changes to the nVidia extensions than it did to the ATI ones (or I assume they did. no one in my appleseed group posted any changes or improvements on ATI hardware). If you were having issues, a better attempt to fix them would have been to reset your pram and nvram.
