Support: many freeware products offer support; and if a product works, you won't need support.

Just because you pay for something does not make it higher quality or more reliable. MPEG Streamclip has a 4.7 star rating here on VT, and DVDxDV only has a 3.7 star rating. Point proven, if you ask me.
