I completely agree: This is a stupid approach for the application to take. All other Mac OS X-savvy applications, if they require authentication, put up a standard authentication dialog - with both username and password fields. The fact that Virex assumes you won't want to change the username from your current account merely shows how out-of-touch the McAfee developers are toward the Mac.Of course, Symantec's NAV isn't much better - but at least handles authentication correctly...
