Hey, Richard: Sounds like the problem is between the keyboard and the chair.No offence, but we have this on several PowerBooks with the O-card, specifically, and 10.3.5 (was 10.3.4)...no problems whatsoever.
Maybe you need a little "maintenance"? I suggest "MacJanitor" and "OnyX" for that.
