Does Permissions Repair ever end? - Gennx30

Do you have 10.3.5 installed? AJ will hang in PR if using 10.3.4 or below.

What version of AppleJack are you using? If you are using any version of Panther (including 10.3.5) and a version of AppleJack older than 1.2.2, permissions repair hangs because of a problem in diskutil.

You can safely ctrl-c out of AppleJack to get out of your hang.

Does Permissions Repair ever end? - JMHammer

Thanks for the hints, guys. I'm using Mac OS X 10.3.5 and Applejack 1.3 so I don't think that was the problem. After three hours I hit my Cube's reset button and did a permission repair from the Disk Utility app, which took its usual 5-10 minutes. I then booted into single-user mode again just to use Applejack to run disk repair, which found nothing wrong. I'll hesitate to use Applejack for permission repair until I hear something from the author.

Best wishes,
Johm H
