You missed the "Local" submenu under the "File" menu. You can use that to browse your local machine within Interarchy. However, it is a bit awkwardly implemented. Myself I don't dislike using the Finder for this and I do dislike the two-pane approach of other programs. Most of the time I'm using Interarchy to edit files on servers directly anyway so the downloading to Mac part is transparent.

You do not have to pay for Interarchy before trying it out, there is a trial period of around seven non-consecutive days before it will time out.
