People use faxes every day, businesses use them extensively. Faxes use POT, Plain Old Telephone. The only way you can fax via a DSL modem is by using a fax service (Where you basically email the fax and it gets sent out.)It make NO SENSE to criticise a fax app because it uses hardware that fax machines use! What La-la land do you live in?

Surprise, but not everyone can get or afford DSL even in 2004. Many people MUST use POT faxing and this is one of the best apps for it.Friday, July 09 2004 @ 08:55 AM PDT

How exactly would one send a fax through via DSL? This is a novel concept but impractical. To reach the receiving fax, one must get from their MAC or PC to the *plain old telephone service* network, or POTS. DSL travels over POTS circuits between the subscriber/client and the central office but doesn't really ever connect TO the plain old telephone service (i.e., the analog network). Keep dreaming. You may hit on something practical one day.Reply to This
