Sure it makes sense...they don't want it to work equally well. That means more macs in offices.

You say it makes no sense yet you admit that you're moving from Macs to PC's. If you're Microsoft, how can that be bad?

I agree the lack of true MAPI support for the Mac is a real shame. However take a look at ximinian.com. Works really well, just bit of a slog to install. Easiest way is to use Fink Commander (fink.sf.net) and the Exchange server must have the web interface working. The SW runs under Xwindows (I use OroborOSX-v0.9) and you'll need the basic dev tools installed.
