There is no need to copy first and then click the arrow to insert a clip in a 'clipping bin'. Just hit the arrow and the selection is saved in the clipping bin. See the manual in the Help menu.

The nature of iClip is that it lets you be selective about what you place in its clipping bins, so it doesn't currently work the way you'd like it to.

In an upcoming version of iClip, though, it will include a feature that will allow you to "record" changes to the clipboard.

Once the clipping is in iclip (simply click the arrow, dragging is not required)
it also resides (temporarily, obviously) in the clipboard and multiple
pastes can be carried out as usual with the keyboard shortcuts until a new clipping is added. Thereafter any clipping can be placed in the clipboard by clipping the 'out' arrow and again multiple pasting can be carried out.
