Thanks for the feedback. I did use the options you mentioned when I was trying out the game back in April. I think the main difference between Pax Imperia and this game is that in Pax, I built fewer more powerful ships but in this game, I just let the ships advance in tech and get built automatically, and soon, I have dozens of ships. I'm big on micro-management but with so many ships, I started to just send them out to kill or get killed.
As for suggestions, since it's been so long since I played this game, I don't remember if the player gets to design his own ships or not. Being an engineer, I loved putting in a bunch of shields and balancing that with armor and power production. That's what I loved about Pax Imperia the most.
