Butler definitely needs a documentation re-write... ;-) Meanwhile, I'll try to respond to your comments here.

1. "Abbreviations resolution": Try the new Butler 4.0b8! You'll notice an improvement.

2. "Locate and launch documents": Just drag the documents and folders in question to your configuration. When adding folders (your "Documents" folder, for instance), make sure the "Search contents for abbreviations" option is checked for the newly created "Local folder contents" item (NOT the Butler folder that contains this item). And please note that searching for abbreviations in the folder's content is limited to three levels of recursion.
