RE: Alias for GarageBand loops folder - RAngol

Then try a symlink instead of an alias.

Also try logging out/in immediately after you create the alias or symlink.

RE: Alias for GarageBand loops folder - Whit G

He's right. I tried the same thing as soon as I got my hands on it and of course it didn't work (logging out won't help), but it turns out symbolic links will do it:

RE: Alias for GarageBand loops folder - halhollander

A Symlink works very well, an alias will not. I did it since the first install of GB and put the whole GarageBand Folder from within the Application Support Folder in Library (all users) folder on to another drive via a symlink vreated by Cocktail. Only Problem was with installing some new softwareinstruments, lice JacoBass later, the installer deleted the symlink! So I created a new Symlink and installed JacoBass via Pacifist which was no problem! Installed the GB update 1.0.1 yesterday-also no problem.
Try symlinks whenever "normal" aliases won't do it.
