I think you're very much mistaken. Wine implements the same calls that Windows does, which means that it's not emulating anything (WINE Is Not an Emulator); it's running applications, just like Windows does. Sometimes Wine is even faster than Windows, sometimes it's slower, but it's not at all what you're calling it.
