After unstuffing and opening the disk image drag the Netscape application into a new directory on your desktop. Then drag this directory to your application folder. As stated in the ReadMe document, installing into a clean directory can avoid problems with installations on top of older versions of Netscape or Mozilla.
I have not found it necessary to throw out my Netscape/Mozilla preferences, but this might also help from inheriting old problems. They are located in ~/Library/Preferences/ and are called org.mozilla.mozilla.plist, org.mozilla.navigator.plist, and com.netscape.mozilla.plist.
