Right archive format, wrong extension - tombb

Thank you for the info.

The choice of archival format is not as simple as one might think, unfortunately. I chose sitx to maintain compatibility with 10.1-10.3 systems, which is what I have to test on. If I post a sitx archive with the sitx extension, my 10.1 IE browser does not by default recognize the archive as a binary! If I use the .sit extension, then everything works fine (unless the person has an old and easily upgraded version of Expander). So far I haven't had any complaints with the beta, but we'll see.

My address is tombb@aol.com

Take care,
Tom

It should be very simple to have 10.1 IE download .sitx files correctly: add the format to the File helper settings by duplicating .sit for SE and change the clone to the .sitx extension. Besides as more and more mac programs with .sitx extensions come out anyone still using IE (I went to Safari) is going to have to address this problem anyhow.
