The KJV: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death..."
REB: "Even were I to walk through a valley of deepest darkness..."
The KJV sounds all mysterious and portentious, but it's not a correct translation of the Hebrew. Unfortunate, but true. The Revised English Bible and the Revised Standard Version are much more true to the sense of the original.
