Read the web page for VueScan, it explains why those scanners that aren't supported, really aren't supported, this includes UMAX USB scanners...

To rate this software the way you have, when it is developed by one person, when the original developer (UMAX) has no Mac OS X support for their own scanners is just bad on your part. Please learn some manners.
If it said it supported your scanner, but did not work reliably, then you can rate appropriately.

Umax will not release the necessary information for any third-party developer to produce a driver for the 1220U. It is not Hamrick's fault.

If you want to take a cheap shot at someone, go to Umax. And good luck. I've done it, and it's not worth the time. They really don't care.

So I'm moving on. My next scanner (and the next, and the one after that ...) will not be a Umax. And I will no longer recommend Umax scanners to anyone. I'm voting with my feet.

Taking it out on third-party developers who can't do a damned thing about it, and giving them poor reviews that are entirely unwarranted, says little for you, Abbath. I'm sorry for you.
