I am the developer and here is what I don't understand: How come program such as phpmyadmin don't get the same rant about how it should not be on VT? PHPmyAdmin also has nothing to do with the macintosh, but is a helpful tool for managing databases. Similarly my program is platform independent but people on the Macintosh might be looking for a POS system. But I do agree that VT should make a section for web appications then it would be easier to organize programs

Thanks,

Chris

I must say this seems kind of a 'bonehead' comment. If it can be run on OS X then it belongs. You may not run it but that does not mean others will pass. If you have no interest why comment? There must be a thousand programs listed here that you have no use for and I am sure you don't comment on all of those.

As far as I know M$ Office is not a default install on OS X and yet we see scripts for use with Entourage.

I use many open source ports and have quite a few PHP based programs running on my Powerbook. Use common sense when adding comments.

What are YOU doing here ? - phantasm

Hey arsehole, I for one am happy I can find neat PHP web apps on Versiontracker. And PHP *IS* shipped with OS X by default, contrary to your obviously underinformed opinion, all you have to do is turn it on in the Apache config. I already use two great PHP web applications on my OS X machine (myPhoto to automatically share my iPhoto library and andromeda to automatically share my mp3's) and I think you're being dumb.

some people are just plain dumb! this does belong here... it CAN be run on a mac AND PHP is installed by default on your mac... if you don't know how to access it then maybe this does not apply to you and maybe you should just shut up. AND PHP is NOT script maybe you should learn something about programming before opening your dumb mouth! when you can program or even script in some language then come back and make a comment. PHP is rather close to C and many other languages. I also think scripting is a form of programming no matter how low or high the language.

plain out shut up if you only have lame complaints about software found on VT
